A downloadable game for Windows

Cinderpatch was created for the #CozyAutumnGameJam2022 in under 2 weeks of free time. The game revolves around destroying pumpkin patches in order to grow them larger.

Controls -

  • W, A, S, & D to move.
  • Space to jump.
  • Hold right click to aim, and while aiming press left click to attack.
  • Hold left click to till an untilled soil tile.
  • Press left click to plant a seed on a tilled soil tile.
  • E to interact.
  • Escape to pause

I have plans to take this concept a lot further with special mechanics around different types of pumpkins, loot that can be obtained from within the plants, additional online multiplayer co-op, and more.

Let me know what you think! For this jam build I was not able to slot very much audio into the game but I'm pleased with the outcome of this vertical slice.

Follow the project if you're interested in following development.

All game assets and logic was created during the jam period. Tools included:

  • Unity - Engine.
  • VSCode - Scripting in C#.
  • FL Studio - Audio.
  • Photoshop - Mockups, color correction, general design, etc.
  • Aseprite - Pixel art and animation.
  • Blender - 3D models, UV unwrapping, various meshes, etc.

I composed the music outside of this jam and own all rights to its use.

What engine is this game and gongbat made in?

(1 edit)

Because these games are just insane and so much fun!

Howdy! Thanks for the compliment! And sorry for the late reply.

Gongbat was built in Game Maker Studio a number of years back and this game was built with Unity. My future projects will all stick with Unity for the time being and I plan on porting Gongbat over at a later date with lots of new features.
